Reader,
I don't know about you, but there's something in the air.
Newness, beginnings, change.
And yes, I think part of that probably has to do with political changes here in the US, but I don't think that's all it is.
There's something about back to school season that feels like a new beginning.
And even though we homeschool now, it's got me thinking about how I can serve you better.
This week, I want to encourage you redefine your definitioon of failure.
To give a personal example...I applied for a children's librarian assistant job that was a dream job for me.
Here it is, I told myself. The opportunity the universe is giving you! The opportunity that you've been waiting for that will change everything!
And then this week I heard I didn't get it.
Which, as someone with rejection sensitivity is really rough.
But after I had a good cry (my 10 year old insisted on putting on Netflix for me and covering me with a blanket, so sweet), I dusted myself off.
Because they say hindsight is 20/20.
And I believe the universe has other plans for me. Better plans.
And if you’re feeling this now, I believe it has plans for you too, Reader.
Like focusing on homeschool and serving you.
You see, last school year we made the decision to homeschool, and it has made all the difference.
I truly believe I was meant to be a homeschool mom even if I didn't see it at first.
So I'm pivoting my content to homeschool life and helping your child read.
I'll be sharing what we're trying, what works, and what doesn't work.
I'm excited to start sharing lessons I've learned the hard way, tips on teaching your child how to read at home, and exclusive content. All with a sprinkle of motivation.
And I'll be relaunching my blog, but as a "day in the life of" homeschooler (that's me) type blog rather than a dry educational one.
Okay. That’s all from me.
Thanks for letting me drop into your inbox.
I know it’s a special place, and I don’t take that for granted.
Happy reading,
Aoife | The Reader's Drop Inn
